TO
DREW BREES
Last night Drew Brees surpassed Dan Marino's single season passing record made in 1984. 5087 PASSING YARDS IN A SINGLE SEASON with one game left in the regular season!
Are you kidding!!!!
Ironically enough as, CHARGER fans looked on, it was broken by two former San Diego players.
The 9' TD pass to Darren Sproles, put Drew up on the Record books, Marino's record for 27 years from back in his 2nd year in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins.
The league has changed as you know it has become a quarterback driven league, but still.........5084 PASSING YARDS!!
This accomplishment, as spoken by Brees in post game locker room was a total Saints Victory, from the equipment managers, coaches, owners, O-line, D-line, all the receivers and backs, no one was left out.
A class FULL gratitude speech from a special player.
Congrats Drew!

Many Charger fans continually are bitter that these 2 players were left out not to mention Michael Turner, also on the field last night. I don't believe that Brees would have flourished as he has in New Orleans. There is something special that happened in that city after Katrina. I think of it as the Island of Misfit Toys: Payton, Brees, Shockey and the city came together with chips on their shoulders, all rejected for some reason or another, some special ingredients..........& lots of LOVE.
The love wasn't here in San Diego, it couldn't be.....and as the phrase speaks,
Wasn't meant to be........
As for Michael Turner, LT was in great form and would have continued had it not been for the release of Lorenzo Neal, look at the stats! Turner needed to be the #1 back, too!
Also on the note of Sproles, well, I'm right there with you! He is NOT an up the middle back as was illustrated in last year at SD..........Boy are his returns missed!!.............Sean Payton has used his strengths, I think an ingredient he has done with the entire team....
CONGRATS AGAIN TO THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS &
CAPTAIN.....DREW BREES
