Phoenix, AZ- Cowtown Skateboards is Proud to announce the 2013 PHXAM Skateboard Contest presented by Vans Shoes.  Top amateurs in skateboarding from from all over the world will compete for the $8,500 prize purse.  Spectators will also have a chance to win a one-year supply of Vans shoes and many other prizes.

Phoenix, AZ- Cowtown Skateboards is proud to announce the 2013 PHXAM Skateboard Contest presented by Vans Shoes.  Top amateur skateboarders from across the globe will compete for more than $8,000 in cash and prizes at Cowtown's PHXAM on Saturday, April 6th and Sunday, April 7th. The top 40 riders from the qualifying jams on Saturday will skate in the semifinals on Sunday.  They will be competing for cash purses of $3,000 for 1st place, $2,000 for 2nd place and $1,000 for 3rd place.  All riders will compete in the Skullcandy Best Trick Contest to be held on Sunday after the finals where Skullcandy will award the rider who lands the best trick $2,500.  PHXAM will start at 10:00 am on Saturday and 11:00 am on Sunday.  There will also be a live webcast of the entire event on Sunday at PHXAM.com  Viewers will also have a chance to win lots of free skateboard goods from our generous sponsors via the watch, share and win, live interactive giveaway.

Pre-sale tickets for spectators will be available for each day at all Cowtown locations and online at  cowtownskateboards.com for $5.  The first 500 attendees each day not only get the best seats in the house but will also receive a PHXAM t shirt and a gift bag including a ticket for the PHXAM raffle.  The grand raffle prize is a one-year supply of Vans Shoes.  Other prizes will include skateboards, trucks, wheels, clothing, backpacks, and all kinds of skateboarding accessories.  At the park TENT CITY will be open all weekend giving fans the chance to interact with their favorite skate companies and local skateboard artists. Games, contests, food, and more are going on all around as you check out new products, meet the riders and wait for your raffle ticket to be called.

The PHXAM After Party is always a good time.  Seeing so many riders, team managers, skate fans and music fans all come together for a night to let loose before the big finals day is something to experience.  This year Altamont brings us The Black Lips, Andrew Jackson Jihad, Destruction Unit, and Freaks of Nature.  They will be shaking the walls at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe after the contest on Saturday April 6th. Last minute needed to go to this event we had planned a "Garbage Sale" and an opportunity came up!
Hurray!! ( I hate professional garage salers).

This also was a treat in that unlike the Pro-Tec Pool Party, attendance a lot less crowded,
less riff-raff, skating level not the same but a huge push of HOPE with these up and coming little rippers.

What a pleasant surprise.
If I was a current pro I would be worried.
11 to 16 year olds going off!!

Was a great treat to be there and see these kids ripping!

Don't be surprised to see the new era of skatepark kids 
as some of the top new pros in the next few years.
